TRICARE FOR MILITARY FAMILIES
What is rTMS?
Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain associated with mood regulation.
Treatment sessions:
- Take about 20–40 minutes
- Do not require anesthesia
- Allow you to return to normal activities afterward
- Are well tolerated by most patients
rTMS works differently from medication. Instead of affecting the whole body, it directly targets specific brain circuits involved in depression.
Safety & Medical Evaluation
rTMS is not appropriate for everyone. Certain implanted medical devices or neurological conditions may prevent treatment.
During your initial testing, our physician will conduct a thorough medical review to ensure safety and determine whether rTMS is appropriate for you.
If you are unsure whether you qualify, we encourage you to reach out. We are happy to answer questions before scheduling.
